    this backpack really, definitely value for money, it's very expensive but it value for money. oh my god, it's very comfortable, , fits very well, like your back was measured by factory. it's 50 L , but from inside its enormous, very large, for two or three days it's great,. the backpack isn't so heavy by itself, . pay attention to the size, it's very important, you have to buy your waist size correctly, because the weight is holding by waist belt. i am experienced hiker, trust me, i know what i am saying

    I have an Osprey Ariel 75 women’s pack that I’ve been using for the past 7 years. My husband needed a pack; this Osprey Atmos AG 65 is very similar.

    Osprey bags are a premium brand at a decent price. Probably the most amazing thing about Osprey bags are their sturdiness and durability. These are bags that you can pass down to your kids so long as they don’t reek. They have an amazing lifetime warranty where they will either repair or if they can’t, they’ll replace your bag.

    There are a million pockets / pouches and loops for hanging all kinds of things off of all over the bag, so you can access the smaller things you need without having to take the pack off. The bag has an integrated hip pouch on each side (almost like a fanny pack is attached to the bottom of your bag), and there is a removable top lid that has two zippered compartments in it. All of the loops and zippers are very sturdy and the zippers have rubber covered loops to make opening and closing easy.

    If you’re unsure whether this is the bag for you or if you should buy another line, I would recommend deciding on whether you are going for softer padding or more ventilation. I opted for the “softer” - the Ariel has the AirScape ventilation system which has molded foam in it. The Atmos has a 3D suspended mesh ventilation which holds the bag away from you to allow increased air flow. There are many different offerings in each of this ventilation systems but I would start with that as a basis.

    The next thing to know is which size to buy. The best bet is to get professionally measured at an outdoor store, but otherwise, you will need to (have someone) measure from your C7 vertebra down to your iliac crest to determine how long your torso is. One item of note: You gain a few liters of space for the larger sizes and lose a few liters for smaller, but it is important that you don’t buy a size L pack if you’re an XS. You can adjust a bag with some straps so if you’re between M and L you can just adjust the bag.

    There are a few upgrades to this backpack that I really love over my own pack:
    - There are ratcheting adjustment straps on the Atmos bag to securely hold it to the right torso length for you (just plain straps on the older model I have).
    - This has an included neon green waterproof cover!!! This is huge - those are about 35 bucks if purchased separately.
    - The top lid has an extra zippered compartment.
    - This has a lot of divided storage whereas my older bag is one big inner compartment and one big thin outer compartment. On the Atmos you get divided compartments on the outside - one for each half of the bag. The inside of the bag only goes down about 75%, the bottom where you stash your sleeping bag is accessible separately. So you don’t have to dig through everything to find what you need. This alone is such a big deal!
    - There is a water reservoir pouch which is accessible from inside the bag (no bladder or hoses included but you can use up to 3L). On my Ariel bag, the water was stored outside the bag.

    These bags aren’t cheap but if you are a weekend backpacker, know that you will have a sturdy, ventilated, and organized pack that will last you a lifetime - they are a good value. I will be buying my son a different model Osprey backpack to use for school and dayhikes since I love this brand so much.

    I like the back of the pack it is very airy, the waist strap is semi ridged and gives a lot of support to remove the weight from your shoulders. There is an approximately 1/4 inch springy wire that lines the back of the pack giving it a ridged but flexible feel. The pouches on the waist band are too far back and are difficult to reach (I have a 34 inch waist and 6 foot 1 inch tall). This pack has a very strong zipper at the bottom where you can store your sleeping bag or other items. the top access is a draw sting with a handy lock The top cap of the pack can hold some slim items. The pack does not come with a water bladder but does have a hold that would be directly behind your neck while wearing the pack. Overall the pack is well built lots of adjustments and straps to hang and hook things to. A number of the adjustments I had immediately maxed specifically around the shoulder straps up around the neck and chest. I feel its hard to get it feeling wright on the back of the neck I spent a lot of time adjusting to get the pressure away from the back of my neck. This is why I docked it a star. I have another 75 liter pack from another maker that has no issues around the neck area.
